Fix 100% disk usage in Windows 10

3. Optimize Drives
a) Search Disk and select Defragment and Optimize Drives.
b) Select the disk that you want to optimize and click Optimize.

4. Disable Windows Search
a) Search cmd and click Run as Administrator.
b) Type the command net.exe stop “Windows search”.
c) Use this to verify whether this is the cause for your problem, if so follow the steps below to turn it
off permanently.
d) Press windows + R to open run and enter services.msc .
e) Search for Windows Search and double-click it to modify its contents.
f) Select Disabled under Startup type and then click ok to save your settings.
5. Reset Virtual Memory
Errors in the pagefile.sys can also lead to this error, So resetting the virtual memory can resolve this issue.
a) Search Advanced system settings and open it.
b) Under Advanced tab in performance section click settings.
c) Under Advanced tab in Virtual memory section click Change.
d) Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
e) Select No paging file, click set and ok.
f) RESTART your system to make the changes effective.
